The island of De Woude in the Alkmaardermeer, home to some 160 people and reachable only by ferry. The little church De Kemphaan, rebuilt by residents in 2002, serves as the village hall: exhibitions by island artists, card evenings, workshops and rentals. With a village council, a rowing club and a facade-stone trail with QR codes.

Winter ferry timetable

From 1 November the ferry to De Woude runs on the winter timetable. On card and film evenings the ferry continues until after the event.
